  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

My product did use the usual conventions used in the same genre. Though my product did not contain all of the conventions appropriate to the genre it was still used in the same way. My product kept the same conventions because the genre in which it contained it was important to include those typical conventions. It was important for the product to be looked at in the same way. With the camera shots I wanted to display the corresponding way in which this level of genre would portray. The camera shots were something very important to be displayed, as it contributed to the different aspects of the product. The multiple props, and costumes were also very important. My video represents a fun goofy video of the normal lives of teenagers. My video just represents a fun loving song, the plan was to keep the same aspect the song contains. Though my video does represent a particular social group of teenagers, it still does apply to any social group that watches it. I wanted to create a video that was just a fun video that anyone can look at and that we can also have fun when we were filming it. So it does not really represent a particular social group and issues. The goal was to capture audiences of all groups to be able to connect with the video. I wanted to make a fun loving video that does not connect to a particular social issue or group. Although it does tie to a specific group, I feel that this is a positive for the product as anyone can enjoy it, it is not limited to a specific person or issue in the world. It is just a video that anyone can see to have a funny and lovable mood, I made this product to put a smile on a person's face.

  1. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My video as I would describe is a special and fun video, what makes it a special video is because it is very different then most videos. Though the topic of the video can be seen as similar to other videos the way it is portrayed is different. The video at first can come off as goofy which is somewhat different as some video may not contain humor. The humor in the video can easily capture the attention of audiences. More than likely audiences would want to approach videos that contain a humorous and loving tone than a serious and humorless tone. I feel that my video is easily engageable than most videos because of the different effects it contains. My video also is attached to any age, and any group as some videos may connect to only a particular group. I would distribute to mostly apps that I feel most people use. That would include youtube, and tiktok as I feel most of the population uses these apps. I would also distribute it to apps that contain a diversity of audiences. So, my video would be watched by any age. I would also distribute it to instagram and snapchat as to engage teenagers more as I feel it would be popularized that way. My video would be able to be seen by anyone if it was released to apps that most people are using nowadays. I didn’t want it to only be engaged with audiences who either did not see the point or did not feel connected with it so I decided to exclude some apps. I also did this so that it would not be shown all over the place.

  1. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

I would say my production skills developed greatly when making this project. I would also say I am more interested in increasing my production skills. I learned the different ways the video can engage the audience's attention. When creating the topic, I learned how I can develop different topics by discussing different tactics or topics on which we can use for the video . When filming, I learned the importance of including different shots, as it is important to the audience's attention because it can actively engage the audience's attention and swift their focus to the video which was something I was trying to do throughout the video. When editing, I learned how aesthetic I can make it so it would satisfy both the video and the audience's attention, this was important as to please the eye for entertainment purposes .In the end I learned the importance of including different shots and editing styles. Before starting on the video I had no clue on how to engage the audience's attention, so in creating this video I have learned a lot, including how to include different camera angles when shooting, and how I can coordinate the camera shots with the editing and many more.

  1. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I used an iphone in order to film the music video which was not bad, which actually turned out to be a good video. I decided to use an iphone then a camera as it was more accessible to me and it also felt a lot easier to film and edit. In fact if I wanted to include an extra thing into the video it would be a lot easier to use an iphone than a camera. With an iphone I was able to make it look more professional and technical, possibly more professional than a camera can do. I used capcut in order to edit as I’ve had experience with it and recognize the tools. It was also an opportunity for me to learn more about, as I do want to end up using it more in the future so the many learning experiences I have can be useful. I used blogger, which is an app in the google website you can access to, I used it because again i’ve also have had experience as I have used it before and I have became very much in love with it, it also contains different ways on how you can blog and make it into your own unique style. To add, blogger is something you can put your own twist into and you don’t really need to follow any guide in using it which is another pro for me for using it in order to create my video.
